Fire fighters said they found several areas inside an abandoned San Bernardino apartment where a fire started late Wednesday night. First responders found smoke pouring from the windows of the second floor apartment. The 1500 Block of Arrowhead Avenue was shut down until the fire was extinguished. There were no injuries. (INT)
Sheriff’s detectives have capped a 3-week homicide investigation with the arrests of two teenage boys. They are accused of fatally shooting Tremon Jordan, 19, outside Macy’s Market in Muscoy December 29th. The incident was said to be gang-related. (INT)
Redlands High School extended its record for San Bernardino County Mock Trial championships to 16 on Saturday as it defeated Rancho Cucamonga in the 38th annual competition. The victory marked Redlands' fifth title in the past seven years as it advances to the state competition in March in Los Angeles. (INT)

It took prosecutors 4-and-a-half years before it was announced Thursday that a Rialto police officer was not criminally liable for a fatal shooting. The District Attorney’s office said that Officer Cesar Vizcarra properly exercised his right of self-defense and the defense of others when Christian Pena was killed in October 2015. (INT)
Investigators were seeking the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a vacant auto repair shop in San Bernardino. Firefighters knocked down the flames on West Mill Street and South Arrowhead Avenue in 18 minutes Monday night. (INT)
Groundbreaking was held Tuesday for the Lake Elsinore Walmart Supercenter on Central Avenue. The new store is a relocation of the current Lake Elsinore Walmart store on Grape Street and will recruit about 100 additional staff. The larger Supercenter will offer more services and options including Walmart’s free Grocery Pickup service, a full-service deli, meat and bakery department and a fresh produce department. (INT)
Riverside police have identified the city’s first homicide victim of 2020. Emanuel Reggie Herrera, 33, was found late Wednesday night laying in the intersection of Victoria Avenue and 12th Street on the city’s Eastside. Herrera, of Riverside, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died later at a local hospital. (INT)
Another three tons of illegally-grown marijuana has been uprooted from the rural Aguanga area of Riverside County. Monday’s seizures were the result of thirteen search warrants served by marijuana eradication teams. Growers were found to be using the dangerous pesticide Carbofuran, which is banned in the United States for it’s toxicity. Six people, all residents of Aguanga, were arrested. In another operation in nearby Anza, a dozen search warrants yielded a half-ton of marijuana and three arrests. (INT)
